IPTV Troubleshooting Guide
Most IPTV problems have simple fixes. Work through these steps in order and you'll clear the large majority of buffering, freezing and login issues.
- 1
Check your connection
Run a quick speed test, aim for 15-25 Mbps for HD, 35 Mbps+ for 4K. Wire the device to the router with Ethernet if you can.
- 2
Restart the chain
Reboot your router, then your streaming device, then the IPTV player. This clears most one-off glitches.
- 3
Refresh the playlist
Use your player's refresh option (TiviMate / IPTV Smarters Pro) to reload the channel list and EPG.
- 4
Try another channel
If only one channel stutters, it is usually the source feed for a moment, switch away and back.

Why IPTV buffers, and what actually fixes it
Nearly every IPTV problem traces back to the last stretch of the connection between your router and your device, not the service itself. Wi-Fi shared with a busy household, an old streaming stick, or peak-hour congestion on your ISP all show up as buffering. The fixes that make the biggest difference, in order, are: wire the device to the router with Ethernet, make sure you have 25 Mbps or more of stable download for HD (35 Mbps plus for 4K), and reboot the router, device and player to clear one-off glitches. Adaptive bitrate then does the rest, stepping quality down instead of freezing when your line dips.
Fix specific problems
- Everything buffers: speed-test your connection, switch to Ethernet, and reboot the chain.
- One channel freezes: it is usually that source feed for a moment, switch away and back.
- Guide is missing or wrong: refresh the EPG and set the correct time zone, see the EPG guide.
- Audio out of sync: reopen the channel, or switch the player's decoder between hardware and software.
- Cannot log in: re-check the server URL, username and password for typos and confirm the subscription is active.
- App keeps crashing: clear the player's cache or reinstall it, and make sure the device has free storage.
FAQ
Why does my IPTV keep buffering?+
Buffering is almost always the local connection: not enough stable bandwidth, Wi-Fi interference, or peak-hour congestion. Wire your device to the router and confirm 15-25 Mbps for HD.
Why won't my IPTV log in?+
Double-check the server URL, username and password from your welcome email for typos, and make sure your subscription is active. If it still fails, contact support to reset your line.
IPTV works on Wi-Fi but freezes on 4K, why?+
4K needs more sustained bandwidth. Move closer to the router, switch to Ethernet, or let adaptive bitrate drop to HD during peak hours.
Only some channels buffer while others are fine, why?+
That usually points to the individual source feed for that channel having a brief moment, not your whole setup. Switch away and back, or try a lower-quality version if the channel offers one. If a specific channel is consistently down, let support know so it can be checked.
The audio is out of sync with the video, how do I fix it?+
Audio drift is usually the player, not the stream. Close and reopen the channel, and if it persists, try switching the player's decoder between hardware and software in settings. Restarting the app clears it in most cases.
Does a VPN cause IPTV problems?+
It can. A slow or distant VPN server adds latency and can cause buffering. A VPN is not required to use IPTV PROS on a normal Canadian connection, so if you are troubleshooting, try turning it off to see if streams improve.
